“We’re pouring happy!” is proudly emblazoned on a new ad of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, promising the taste of sunny California and the glamour of Hollywood – all that you can now experience for yourself.
Launching in Pakistan for the first time this December, the Coffee Bean is kicking off its opening ceremony with a lucky draw contest for customers in the first month. The winner will get the chance to relive the history of the company with a trip to the Coffee Bean Headquarters in the City of Dreams, Los Angeles! The winner will also get to visit the first landmark store in Brentwood, the famous stores in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood frequented by celebrities, as well as an exclusive meeting with some of the world’s renowned coffee and tea masters.
With over 1200 stores across 31 countries, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is the oldest and largest privately-held specialty coffee and tea retailer in the world. It has been serving the Hollywood elite for over 50 years, including the likes of Johnny Carson, David Beckham, Madonna and Eddie Murphy. The story of the brand traces back to the year 1963 when the legendary founder, Herbert Hyman, was about to pioneer a premium coffee movement that no one saw coming.
Hyman, now referred to as the ‘founding father’ of gourmet coffee in California, was inspired to import rich whole beans from Central and South America, Africa and Indonesia after making several visits to specialty coffee stores in Sweden, his wife Mona’s native country. The business particularly took off when an employee brought a blender on a hot, summer day and mixed a concoction of ice, coffee and chocolate powder, thereby creating the company’s now signature ‘ice blended’ drink.
Not only does Coffee Bean carefully select the top 1% of handpicked Arabica beans, it also offers over 20 hand-picked whole leaf teas from around the world. On the food side of the menu, you will be spoilt for choice between both sweet and savory options made from the finest ingredients, using recipes that have been honed to perfection over 50 years.
The opening of Coffee Bean is part of the quiet lifestyle revolution in Pakistan, offering people culinary art in a cup while adding a colour and energy of its own to the rapidly blooming café culture.
